Collaboration with "Salaam Baalak Trust" (SBT)
Rescue of missing and trafficked children at New Delhi Railway Station

Salaam Baalak Trust (SBT) was founded with funds raised from Mira Nair’s movie Salaam Bombay in 1988; over the last 35 years, it has built an impeccable track record of grass roots work and is India’s pre-eminent child-centric organization. SBT runs 7 residential centers in India and impacts the lives of more than 130,000 children.

In addition to rehabilitation, SBT has also got a small team involved in the rescue of missing & trafficked children, active at among other places, the New Delhi Railway station.

With a field strength of 4, SBT last year rescued and restored 937 children from the New Delhi Railway station- a commendable achievement.

Program

The SNF is now attempting to amplify Salaam Baalak Trust’s rescue efforts by funding 2 additional full-time headcounts for a 3-year period. They too will be working at the New Delhi Railway station and will increase SBT’s existing capacity there by 50%, going from the current strength of 4 to 6.
