Junior Merit-cum-Need Based Nutrition Scholarships
A unique Monthly Nutrition Award program for primary grade children.
The SNF scholarships are open for school children studying in grades I to IV, from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. As part of the nutrition scholarships, The SNF provides each child monthly food packets comprising of nutrition rich foods like Egg trays, Soybeans and Pulses, in sufficient quantities to ensure daily intake of these foodstuffs, throughout the month.
These nutrition scholarships are awarded to the Top 4 ranked children in each grade from Class I to IV. A filter on the economic background of the parents is applied and hence these are termed Merit-cum-Need based Nutrition scholarships.

Our endeavor is to provide these food packets regularly every month, for a significant period of time, so that the recipient children can have tangible improvements in their diet.

A training program is held for parents on right preparation techniques of nutritive foodstuffs, so that they can utilize these learnings while cooking at home.
Currently the program is active at an NGO run-school- the Nehru Bal Samiti Bal Vikas Vidyalaya, in Masjid Moth, New Delhi. Established in 1963, NBS works for the welfare of children living in economically and socially backward areas. NBS is a well-reputed organization having won the National Award for child welfare in 1993 and the UN Medal for peace projects in 1995-96.
The first batch of The SNF Scholarship recipients at Nehru Bal Vikas Vidyalaya, have been receiving their monthly nutrition packets since May 2022.
