Program

The normal diet of the children living in Nizamuddin Basti is very carbohydrate heavy, with a preponderance of rice preparations. As a result, their nutrition intake is very low.

The SNF provides all the pre-primary children in the Hope Project’s education center with a nutrient rich boiled egg, given every alternate day, throughout the year. The eggs are boiled on premise by the Hope Project’s staff, thereby ensuring that the children actually consume the eggs; this program benefits 70-100 children, for whom this would probably be their most nutritious food of the day.

Additionally, Children diagnosed as anemic, are provided with Iron, Multi-Vitamin and Calcium tablets, by the Hope Project clinic, with funding for the medicines being done by The SNF.
